Our client is a well-established company that has strong legacy in the Freight Industry. They are looking for a passionate, high performing and results oriented Sales Manager who will help them meet customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping the company competitive and innovative. The candidate will be responsible for maximizing the sales team potential, crafting sales plans and justifying those to plans to the executive management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence

  • Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales team

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs

  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

Key skills and requirements 

  • Should have at least 5 years’ experience in a senior sales position and This is an important position and the person we hire should be a of very high integrity and committed.

  • An achiever with a good track record of consistently meeting or exceeding targets

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills

  • A good understanding of Freight forwarding business including Sea, Air and supply chain. Warehousing knowledge would be an added advantage.

  • Willing to travel internally within Kenya and abroad for sales meetings customer presentations. Should be a good communicator with clear understanding of the business.

  • Must have own car.

  • Should have a good understanding of numbers and must be able to provide analytical and constructive reports to management.
